Call for Projects that Combat Disinformation
Disinformation in online media poses a significant threat to our historical memory. Since 7 October 2023, there has been a marked increase in narratives seeking to trivialise the Holocaust and undermine the culture of remembrance.
In order to tackle this issue more effectively, the National Fund of the Republic of Austria has introduced a special funding focus for 2025 and 2026. This initiative aims to identify and combat disinformation in online media that seeks to trivialise the Holocaust and undermine the culture of remembrance.
Eligible projects under this funding priority might:
- analyse antisemitic and other disinformation narratives in digital media,
- develop innovative technical approaches to detect and classify such content, or
- devise measures to raise awareness, prevent the spread of disinformation, and support relevant stakeholders.
Upcoming submission deadlines:
- 1 September 2026
- 1 November 2026
By submitting your project idea, you can play a key role in promoting a culture of remembrance, combatting anti-Semitism, and tackling disinformation online.
