The National Fund of the Republic of Austria is mourning a long-standing member of the Steering Committee for the Renewal of the Austrian Exhibition at Auschwitz.
It is with dismay and great sorrow that we learned of the untimely and unexpected death of Dr. Christian Kainz, the Future Fund’s representative on the Steering Committee for the Renewal of the Austrian Exhibition at Auschwitz, on Friday 23 February 2018.
He was very personally invested in making the renewal of the Austrian exhibition at Auschwitz a success: as an important project of remembrance and a site of worthy commemoration. We valued him highly for his integrity and dedication. He was a person who looked to find solutions and was always willing to lend us his ear, for which we were extremely grateful.
Christoph Kainz will be sadly missed.
