It was not until her latter years that Anny Robert decided to reflect on her life and to write down her memories of her childhood in Vienna of the First World War, being sent to Denmark as a child, her emigration to Palestine and her life as a professional, emancipated woman in Israel; not only in the form of stories but also poetry. She tells an Austria-Israeli woman’s story which, with its crises, losses and small victories, can be read as the tale of a whole century.

Erst im späten Alter entschloss sich Anny Robert ihr Leben zu reflektieren und ihre Erinnerungen an die Kindheit im Wien des Ersten Weltkrieges, die Kinderverschickung nach Dänemark, die Auswanderung nach Palästina und ihr Leben als berufstätige emanzipierte Frau in Israel in Prosa niederzuschreiben; nicht nur in Geschichten, sondern auch in lyrischer Form. Ein österreichisch-israelisches Frauenschicksal wird hier wiedergegeben, das mit seinen Krisen, Verlusten und kleinen Siegen auch als Nacherzählung eines ganzen Jahrhunderts gelesen werden kann.
