Publication of the Documentation of the conference A Memorial for the Homosexual and Transgender Victims of National Socialism

Publikation der Dokumentation der Tagung Ein Mahnmal für die homosexuellen und transgender Opfer des Nationalsozialismus

 

The provisional program for the conference shows that a broad range of aspects of remembrance in keeping with the times should be discussed. The organizers considered the intense involvement of the community to be very important and the opportunity for a broad discourse. In order to deepen this discourse the publication of the lectures and conference and a documentation of the discussion forums are planned. The roundtable discussions and workshops for the individual fields of work will be recorded, transcribed and made part of the publication in shortened form: to date, a unique approach in the run up to the erection of a memorial for a group of victims of National Socialism and, as such, a project which will be met with interest beyond Viennese and Austrian borders.

Das vorläufige Tagungsprogramm zeigt, dass vielfältige Aspekte eines zeitgemäßen Gedenkens diskutiert werden sollen. Wichtig war dem Organisationsteam dabei eine intensive Einbeziehung der Community und die Möglichkeit eines breiten Diskurses. Um diesen zu vertiefen, ist eine Publikation der Vorträge und Tagung und eine Dokumentation der Diskussionsforen geplant. Die Podiumsdiskussion und die Workshops zu den einzelnen Arbeitskreisen werden aufgenommen, transkribiert und in einer gekürzten Fassung Teil der Publikation: Ein bislang einzigartiges Vorgehen im Vorfeld der Errichtung eines Mahnmals für eine Opfergruppe des Nationalsozialismus und damit ein Projekt, das auch über die Grenzen Wiens und Österreichs auf Interesse stoßen wird.
