Project

Description

The International Lenin School in Moscow educated around 3,500 Communists from around the world, including ca. 140 members of the Austrian Communist Party. The focus of the study is to investigate the collective biographies of the Austrian Lenin students, who were generally considered politically reliable. The majority of them took on important roles, e.g. as political commissioners in the Spanish Civil War, as a strategic cadre in the resistance against Austrofascism and against the Nazi regime.
