The research project 'Medical Experiments in Nazi Concentration Camps' dealt with the experiences, the awareness and the national, social and religious distribution of the victims of medical experiments during the Holocaust. The two sources were, firstly, the processing and analysis of interviews with victims of medical experiments conducted within the scope of the “Mauthausen survivors documentation project” and, secondly, the processing of reports on people’s experiences which are contained in applications to the “Fund for Victims of Medical Experiments and Other Personal Damages”. The project took into consideration all categories of prisoners from Mauthausen, particularly those from the former Soviet Union and Poland as well as Jewish and non-Jewish inmates. The outcome was a collection, documentation and analysis of reports of experiments in Mauthausen and its satellite camps.

Das Forschungsprojekt 'Medical Experiments in Nazi Conzentration Camps' befasst sich mit dem Erlebnis, dem Bewusstsein und der nationalen, sozialen und religiösen Verteilung der Opfer medizinischer Experimente während des Holocaust. Die beiden Quellen sind einerseits die Aufarbeitung und Analyse von Interviews mit Opfern medizinischer Experimente im Rahmen des 'Mauthausen Survivors Documentation Project' und andererseits die Bearbeitung von Erlebnisberichten, die in Anträgen an den 'Fonds für Opfer Medizinischer Experimente und sonstiger Personenschäden' enthalten sind. Das Projekt wird alle Kategorien von Häftlingen aus Mauthausen, insbesondere aus der Ex-Sowjetunion und aus Polen, berücksichtigen sowie jüdische und nichtjüdische Häftlinge. Das Ergebnis soll eine Sammlung, Dokumentation und Analyse von Berichten über medizinische Experimente in Mauthausen und seiner Nebenlager sein.
