Description
The Association ESRA is a psychotherapeutic center in Vienna for Holocaust survivors and their descendents and the second generation. Experience in working with survivors or National Socialist persecution shows that many of those affected do not find their way to therapy establishments. Often this is also because they perceive this process as stigmatization and are scared of being traumatized again. Other groups (e.g. children from so called mixed marriages deny their needs to themselves and continue their U-Boot existence).

Der Verein ESRA ist ein psychotherapeutisches Zentrum in Wien für Holocaustüberlebende und die Zweite Generation. Die Erfahrung in der Arbeit mit Überlebenden der NS-Verfolgung zeigt, dass viele Betroffenen nicht den Weg zu therapeutischen Einrichtungen finden. Oft auch, weil sie diesen Prozess als Stigmatisierung empfinden und eine Retraumatisierung fürchten. Andere Gruppen (z.B. Kinder aus sogenannten Mischehen) verleugnen ihre Ansprüche und setzen so ihr U-Boot-Dasein fort.
