As an Auschwitz survivor, Frankl painted the terrible experiences in the concentration camps in order to process what he had been through and create an artistic legacy for future generations. The exhibition, under the patronage of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, was to function as both an informative and a remembrance exhibition on the subject of the Holocaust. The exhibition was to take place in 2000 in the Vatican. Unfortunately, due to higher prices in Italy, further expenses were incurred.

Als einer der Überlebenden von Auschwitz malte Frankl die schrecklichen Erlebnisse in den Konzentrationslagern, um auf diese Art das Erlittene zu verarbeiten und ein künstlerisches Zeitzeugnis für die Nachwelt zu schaffen. Die Ausstellung, die unter der Schirmherrschaft des UN-Hochkommissars für Menschenrechte steht, soll als Informations- und Mahnausstellung zum Thema Holocaust dienen. Die Ausstellung soll im 'großen Jubiläumsjahr 2000 im Vatikan' in Rom stattfinden. Leider sind nun durch erhöhte Preise in Italien Mehrkosten aufgetreten
