Description
CENTROPA is a unique project in that it is both a virtual museum and an educational center which takes visitors on a photographic journey through the Jewish history of the 20th century, both through a world which was destroyed by the Shoah and that which was re-established after 1989. It includes over 75,000 negatives as well as video material on day-to-day Jewish life, written reports and short biographies of the children in Theresienstadt and articles on the present circumstances of the communities.

CENTROPA stellt insofern ein einzigartiges Projekt dar, als es sich um ein virtuelles Museum und ein pädagogisches Zentrum handeln wird, das die Besucher auf eine fotografische Reise durch die jüdische Geschichte des 20.Jahrhundert führen wird; sowohl in jene Welt, welche durch die Shoa zerstört wurde, als auch in diejenige, die nach 1989 wieder entstanden ist. Dazu gehören mehr als 75.000 Negative sowie Videomaterial über das alltägliche Gemeindeleben von heute, schriftliche Berichte und kurze Biographien der Kinder in Theresienstadt bis zu Artikeln über die heutige Situation in den Gemeinden.
