At the request of the Federal Minister Dr. Fererro-Waldner, Austria was included in the Task Force on 1 February 2001. Federal Chancellor Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel emphasized this event in press releases. In the preceding months, the Ministry for Education (Mag. Morawek) had transferred the agendas to a work group at the National Fund and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (Ambassador Dr. Hans Winkler) requested the payment of the subscription fee from the means of the Looted Gold Fund.

Österreich wurde auf Ansuchen der Bundesministerin Dr. Fererro-Waldner am 01. Februar 2001 in oben genannte Task Force aufgenommen. Herr Bundeskanzler Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel hob dieses Ereignis in Pressemeldungen hervor. Schon in den Monaten davor hatte das Unterrichtsministerium (Frau Mag. Morawek) die Agenden der Arbeitsgruppe an den Nationalfonds übertragen, und das Außenministerium (Botschafter Dr. Hans Winkler) hat um Zahlung des Mitgliedsbeitrages aus den Mitteln des Raubgoldes gebeten.
