Event marking the liberation of Mauthausen concentration camp

To mark the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Mauthausen concentration camp, the district group Vienna Innere Stadt in Vienna 1., Seitzergasse 2–4 (BAWAG) held a commemoration and information event on the structures of the Nazi concentration camps, taking Mauthausen as an example. University lecturer Mag. Andreas Baumgartner talked about the self-administration of prisoners and surviving eyewitness and Ravensbrück inmate Antonia Bruha talked about the infirmary system. Texts relating to events in Mautausen were also read out.

Anlässlich der Befreiung des Konzentrationslagers Mauthausen vor 60 Jahren hält die Bezirksgruppe Wien Innere Stadt in Wien 1., Seitzergasse 2-4 (BAWAG) eine Gedenk- und Aufklärungsveranstaltung zu den Strukturen der NS-Konzentrationslager am Beispiel des KZ Mauthausen ab. Univ. Lektor Mag. Andreas Baumgartner wird zur Häftlingsselbstverwaltung in Mauthausen und Zeitzeugin und ehemalige Ravensbrückinhaftierte Antonia Bruha wird zum System der Krankenstationen referieren. Weiters werden Texte, die sich auf das Geschehen im KZ Mauthausen beziehen, vorgelesen.
