With the collapse of the currency, the situation for old people in Argentina has become particularly difficult. 3,500 aged Holocaust survivors have become the so called “new poor” as a result of the situation in the country. 500 of them originally come from Austria. Financial assistance is desperately needed for the social and medical provision of these people. For this reason, in 2002 five new centers were established to support old and needy Holocaust survivors both with care packets and in the form of social assistance and medical care.

Mit dem Zusammenbruch der Währung ist eine besonders schwere Situation für ältere Menschen in Argentinien entstanden. 3.500 ältere Holocaustüberlebende sind durch die Situation im Land zu den sogenannten 'New Poor' geworden. 500 von ihnen stammen aus Österreich. Die soziale und medizinische Versorgung der Menschen braucht dringend finanzielle Unterstützung. Im Jahr 2002 werden daher fünf neue Zentren errichtet, um die älteren und bedürftigen Holocaustüberlebenden sowohl mit Carepaketen als auch in Form von sozialer Hilfeleistung und medizinischer Versorgung zu unterstützen.
