Not least due to his own fate, Professor Karl Stojka has been striving for years to document the suffering of the Roma and Sinti during the National Socialist era in order that this tragic time may not be forgotten. In his books “My Name during the Third Reich: Z.5742” and “Gas” he deals with the stories of murdered Roma and Sinti and published photos which he was able to find after almost 50 years of searching in the Berlin Federal Archives. Due to great demand, both books were reprinted.

Prof. Karl Stojka bemüht sich, nicht zuletzt aufgrund seines eigenen Schicksals während der NS-Herrschaft, seit Jahren Dokumentationen vom Leiden der Roma und Sinti zu erstellen, um ein Vergessen dieser tragischen Zeit unmöglich zu machen. In seinen Büchern 'Mein Name im Dritten Reich: Z.5742' und 'Gas' befasst er sich mit der Geschichte von ermordeten Roma und Sinti und veröffentlicht Fotos, die er nach einer fast 50-jährigen Suche im Bundesarchiv in Berlin ausfindig machen konnte. Auf Grund der hohen Nachfrage wurden beide Bücher neu gedruckt.
