Description
The recording of the planned CD was to be viewed as creating a bridge. With the ORF Orchestra and the conductor Elli Jaffe from Jerusalem, who is also responsible for the new arrangements of the songs, the Head Cantor of Vienna sings classic Jewish cantoral songs and popular pieces. Some pieces are devoted to the memory of the Holocaust victims (e.g. 'El Male Rachamim'; ’It burns’ and others). The Head Cantor hopes to connect with the great past cantoral tradition in Vienna and Austria.

Als Brückenschlag soll die Aufnahme der neu geplanten CD gesehen werden. Gemeinsam mit dem ORF-Orchester und dem Dirigenten Elli Jaffe, aus Jerusalem, der auch für das neue Arrangement der Lieder verantwortlich ist, singt der Oberkantor von Wien klassische, jüdische kantorale und populäre Musikstücke. Einige Stücke sind direkt der Erinnerung an die Holocaustopfer gewidmet (z. B. 'El Male Rachamim'; 'Es brennt' und andere). Mit dieser Aufnahme will der Oberkantor an die große, vergangene Kantorentradition in Wien und Österreich anknüpfen.
