'A Letter to the Stars. Schüler schreiben Geschichte.', Druckkosten für Buch und Plakate

 

The aim of the project was for students and teachers working together to discover and research the fates of 80,000 Austrian victims of National Socialism. Instead of anonymous lists of victims, an archive of personal stories was created by the students. All Austrian schools were invited to participate. To conclude the project, students wrote letters “to the future” which were attached to balloons and released into the sky during a memorial ceremony on Heldenplatz on 5 May 2003.

In Zusammenarbeit mit SchülerInnen und LehrerInnen werden, so das Ziel des Projekts, 80.000 Schicksale der österreichischen Opfer des Nationalsozialismus erarbeitet und erforscht. Statt der anonymen Liste der Opfer wird ein Archiv persönlicher Geschichten durch die SchülerInnen geschaffen werden. Alle Schulen Österreichs sind eingeladen teilzunehmen. Zum Abschluss werden Briefe 'an die Zukunft' von SchülerInnen verfasst und während einer Gedenkveranstaltung am Heldenplatz am 5. Mai 2003 an einen Luftballon geknüpft und in den Himmel geschickt.
