Description

The aim was to conduct 800 interviews with survivors of Mauthausen and its satellite camps in all western European countries, in South and North America and in Israel. 720 audio interviews were saved in digital form; 80 interviews were recorded on video. They were labeled as to their content and geographical origin, saved in a database and archived in the concentration camp memorial Mauthausen archives in the Federal Ministry of the Interior. All other documents, photos, letter etc were also collected, archived and formed part of the running projects for the redesign of the concentration camp memorial Mauthausen.

Das Ziel ist es, in allen wesentlichen Ländern Europas, in Süd- und Nord-Amerika sowie in Israel insgesamt 800 Interviews bzw. Lebenserinnerungen von Überlebenden des NS-Konzentrationslagers Mauthausen und seiner Nebenlager aufzuzeichnen. 720 Audio Interviews werden in digitalisierter Form gespeichert, 80 Interviews werden auf Video aufgezeichnet. Sie werden inhaltlich und geographisch beschriftet, in einer Datenbank gespeichert und im Archiv der KZ-Gedenkstätte Mauthausen im Bundesministerium für Inneres archiviert. Sämtliche andere Dokumente, Photos, Briefe usw. werden ebenfalls gesammelt, archiviert und sollen in die laufenden Projekte zur Neugestaltung der KZ-Gedenkstätte Mauthausen einfließen.
