Project

Description

During the Second World War, 20 concentration and slave labor camps were set up in Estonia, most of them in East Virumaa. Several were near the capital Tallin, in Tartu and Pärnu. The Jewish community of Estonia conducted a large-scale remembrance project. To this end, the names and origin of all people murdered there, including victims of Austrian origin, were researched and memorials, plaques and sites of remembrance erected.
