Project

Description

Most members of the Jewish communities in Slovakia live in Bratislava and Kosice, among the 1500 Holocaust survivors who require medical care. The UZZNO carries out several aid programs and projects for these people; the maintenance of the retirement home “Ohel David Old Age Home” for aged survivors in Bratislava, an out-patients’ department and a day care center in Kosice and “Or Chaim” (Light of Life), a social health establishment founded in 2000 which cares for Holocaust survivors in hospitals, retirement homes and bedridden people. “Or Chaim” wanted to extend its range of services (food delivery, social programs and basic health provisions).
