In April 2004, work was commenced on the renovation of the synagogue in Baden. It was completed in around June 2005. The Board of Trustees of the Synagogue Association Baden decided to publish a documentation in the form of a book at the same time as the synagogue’s reopening. The book is dedicated to the 200 year history of the community in Baden. For the most part, the book was devoted to the ca. 2000 members of the community who were forgotten after the Holocaust and deals with their fates of exile and murder as well as with the aryanization of the Jewish community area comprised of the court districts of Baden and Pottenstein and the town Gumpoldskirchen.

Im April diesen Jahres wurde mit den Arbeiten zur Renovierung der Badener Synagoge begonnen. Das geplante Ende der Wiederinstandsetzung ist Juni 2005. Der Vorstand des Synagogenvereines Baden hat sich daher entschlossen, zeitgleich mit der Wiedereröffnung der Synagoge auch eine Dokumentation in Form eines Buches herausgeben zu wollen, welche der 200-jährige Geschichte der Gemeinde gewidmet sein wird. Das Buch wendet sich in einem wesentlichen Teil den rund 2000 nach dem Holocaust vergessenen Gemeindemitgliedern zu und setzt sich mit deren Schicksal zwischen Vertreibung und Ermordung ebenso auseinander wie mit der Arisierung der in dem die Gerichtsbezirke Baden und Pottenstein sowie den Ort Gumpoldskirchen umfassenden Kultusgemeindesprengel.
