‘March of the living’ is a worldwide organization which brought thousands of people to Poland to mark the Day of Remembrance and to stop the memory of those murdered being forgotten. The gathering of Jewish youth in Auschwitz was also symbolic. It showed the world and the Jewish youth that the National Socialist regime was not successful in completely eliminating the Jewish race. The organizers sent a large delegation of young Austrian Jews in the Year of Remembrance.

March of the Living' ist eine weltweite Organisation, die jedes Jahr zum Holocaust- Gedenktag tausende Menschen nach Polen bringt, um den Gedenktag zu begehen und die Erinnerung an die Ermordeten nicht in Vergessenheit geraten zu lassen. Die Versammlung jüdischer Jugend in Auschwitz hat ebenfalls eine symbolische Bedeutung. Hiermit wird sowohl der Welt als auch der jüdischen Jugend selbst demonstriert, dass das NS-Regime die totale Ausrottung der Juden nicht geschafft hat. Für das Jubiläumsjahr planen die Organisatoren eine größere Delegation österreichisch-jüdischer Jugendlicher zu entsenden.
