In this project, the origin of the cadavers brought to the Anatomy Department of the University of Innsbruck between 1938 and 1945 will be investigated and analyzed. Numerous victims of the Nazi regime are already known. Here, three groupings can be made: executees from Münich-Stadelheim; victims from Stalag (“main camp”) XVIII C St. Johann im Pongau, the Stalag XVIII C/Z Landeck and the Stalag Jenbach; those executed on Paschberg by the Innsbruck court martial; further victims of execution are likely. A possible fourth group, which has not yet been proven, may consist of euthanasia victims. The project has set itself the task of researching the life stories and publishing activity of all the staff of the Anatomy Department of the University of Innsbruck prior to and during the Nazi era. Further aims include digitally recording and evaluating the Innsbruck cadaver register, identifying the victims from Munich Stadelheim (executees), the various main camps (prisoners of war) and those executed on the Paschberg by the Innsbruck court martial, biographical studies on Felix Sieglbauer, Jürg Mathis and their assistants, recording and analyzing publications using Nazi victims, an analysis of the provenance of museum specimens at the Innsbruck Anatomical Museum and a publication and further-reaching dissemination.

Mit diesem Projekt soll die Herkunft der an die Anatomie Innsbruck verbrachten Leichen der Jahre 1938 bis 1945 untersucht und analysiert werden. Bekannt sind schon jetzt zahlreiche Opfer des NS-Regimes. Dabei lassen sich drei Gruppen identifizieren: erstens Hingerichtete aus München-Stadelheim, zweitens Opfer aus dem Stalag XVIII C (Stammlager) St. Johann im Pongau, dem Stalag XVIII C/Z Landeck sowie dem „Stalag Jenbach“ und drittens am Paschberg Hingerichtete der Innsbrucker Kriegsgerichte; weitere Opfer von Hinrichtungen sind wahrscheinlich. Eine vierte, aber derzeit nicht nachweisbare Gruppe könnten Euthanasie-Opfer darstellen. Das Projekt stellt sich die Aufgabe, die Lebensgeschichten und Publikationstätigkeiten der MitarbeiterInnen der Innsbrucker Anatomie (vor und) während der NS-Zeit herauszuarbeiten. Weitere Ziele sind die digitale Erfassung und Auswertung des Innsbrucker Leichenbuchs, die Identifizierung der Opfer aus München-Stadelheim (Hingerichtete) und den verschiedenen Stammlagern (Kriegsgefangene) sowie der am Paschberg Hingerichteten der Innsbrucker Kriegsgerichte, biografische Studien zu Felix Sieglbauer, Jürg Mathis und deren Assistenten, die Erfassung und Analyse von Publikationen unter Verwendung von NS-Opfern, eine Analyse der Provenienz der Museumspräparate im Innsbrucker Anatomischen Museum sowie als Abschluss eine zusammenfassende Publikation und weiterführende Dissemination.
