The project involved research being carried out into the life stories of the victims of National Socialism from Oberes Drautal, the documentation and publicizing of the stories of persecution, inciting an adequate culture of remembrance and creating memorials. Up to this point the victims of National Socialism in and from Oberes Drautal had not been documented. Detailed scientific research formed a sound basis for the conveyance of the stories of persecution.

Die Ziele des Projektes sind die lebensgeschichtliche Erforschung der Opfer des Nationalsozialismus im und aus dem Oberen Drautal, die Dokumentation und öffentliche Vermittlung der Verfolgungsgeschichten, die Anregung einer angemessenen Gedenkkultur sowie die Schaffung von Erinnerungsmalen. Es gibt bisher keine Dokumentation zu den Opfern des Nationalsozialismus im und aus dem Oberen Drautal. Eine genaue wissenschaftlich durchgeführte Recherche und Dokumentation soll die tragfähige Basis für die Vermittlung der Verfolgungsgeschichten sein.
