The central subject of the 4th central seminar (4-7 November 2005, Klagenfurt) was the area of tension between memory and history. At the end of the Year of Remembrance 2005, taking predominantly Carinthia as an example of competing memories and narrative, the subjects “remembrance and memory” were dealt with .The present importance of remembering the National Socialist era and confronting these memories was important to discuss, not only in relation to the history of the Slovenian ethnic group.

Die Zentrale Themenstellung des 4. Zentralen Seminars (4.-7. November 2005, Klagenfurt) wird das Spannungsfeld von Gedächtnis und Geschichte sein. Gegen Ende des 'Gedankenjahres' 2005 sollen die Themen 'Gedenken und Gedächtnis' v.a. am Kärntner Beispiel der konkurrierenden Gedächtnisse und Narrative bearbeitet werden. Welche gegenwärtige Bedeutung die Erinnerung an die NS-Zeit sowie die Auseinandersetzungen um diese Erinnerung hat, wird nicht nur an der Geschichte der slowenischen Volksgruppe gut zu besprechen sein.
