Description

On the occasion of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the State Treaty, a CD by Vally Weigel was released. Vally Weigel, who emigrated to the USA with her husband Karl Weigel in 1938, was a well-known composer and music therapist. Her politically active sister Käthe Leichter remained in Vienna and was murdered in a concentration camp in 1942. Vally Weigel’s intensive tonality is a reflection of her Viennese origins. The CD brought the forgotten composer to the attention of a wider public.
