This film recapitulates the lives of eight Viennese Jewish women who were able to flee the Nazis in time in 1938. Eight women, all aged around 80, Anita, Dorit, Eva, Henni, Susy, Susi, Rosalie and Lizzy grew up as Jewish girls in Vienna and fled in 1938. The first arrived in England and then, later, in New York, where they grounded their families, careers and livelihoods. In the documentary “Vienna’s lost daughters”, they appear before the camera, take stock of their lives and give a personal take on Austrian-American history.

Dieser Film will das Leben von acht Wiener Jüdinnen, die als Kinder und Jugendliche 1938 mit dem Kindertransport rechtzeitig vor den Nazis fliehen konnten, rekapitulieren. Acht Damen um die achtzig, Anita, Dorit, Eva, Henni, Susy, Susi, Rosalie und Lizzy sind als jüdische Mädchen in Wien groß geworden und 1938 geflüchtet. Erst landeten sie in England, später in New York, wo sie sich ihre Familien, Berufe und Existenzen aufgebaut haben. In dem Dokumentarfilm 'Wiens verlorene Töchter' treten sie vor die Kamera, ziehen Lebensbilanz und rollen österreichisch-amerikanische Geschichte auf ganz persönliche Art und Weise auf.
