Description

Shmuel Baruch Tauber grew up in Burgenland, fled to France during the Nazi era and was deported from there to Auschwitz. He survived several concentration camps and after 1945 was a cantor in Paris, London, Montreal and Washington. At the time of this day of remembrance, the 92 year old lived in Rehovoth, Israel. Within the scope of this event, and the conference of the Orpheus Trust, cantor Shmuel Baruch Tauber visited Vienna and Burgenland accompanied by his daughter.

Shmuel Baruch Taube ist im Burgenland aufgewachsen, in der NS-Zeit nach Frankreich geflohen und wurde von dort nach Auschwitz deportiert. Er hat mehrere Konzentrationslager überlebt und war nach 1945 Kantor in Paris, London, Montreal und Washington. Der heute 92-Jährige lebt heute in Rehovoth, Israel. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung und des Symposiums vom Orpheus Trust besuchte Kantor Shmuel Baruch Taube in Begleitung seiner Tochter Wien und das Burgenland.
