The association, whose meager funds are raised entirely from the yearly subscription fees predominantly of the widows and relatives of the former Spanish prisoners in the Mauthausen concentration camp, wanted to lay three wreaths (as has always been done by the victims themselves, the majority of whom have now passed away) at the main liberation ceremony and one at the memorial in Vöcklabruck (this camp predominantly held Spanish prisoners).

Der Verein, dessen geringe Mittel nur aus den jährlichen Beiträgen vor allem der Witwen und Angehörigen der ehemaligen in Österreich verbliebenen spanischen Häftlinge des KZs Mauthausen bestehen, möchte - so wie bisher von den mittlerweile meist verstorbenen Opfern selbst - weiterhin drei Kränze bei der Hauptbefreiungsfeier sowie einen an der Gedenkstätte in Vöcklabruck (in diesem Lager waren vorwiegend spanische Häftlinge) niederlegen.
