Description

On the day before the remembrance ceremony, 80,000 flowers of remembrance – in memory of the 80,000 Austrian victims of National Socialism – were installed on Stephansplatz in cooperation with the University of Applied Arts as an impressive memorial. On 5 May 2006, the “National Day of Remembrance Against Violence and Racism in Memory of the Victims of National Socialism”, school students, survivors, army recruits and people rendering community service, as well as interested parties, removed the white roses from the installation and brought them to all places in Austria where people lived before their expulsion and murder.
