A New Anthology of Austrian Exile and Resistance Poetry'

Over 50 years after the publication of the only poetry anthology of Austrian exile “Home is where the heart is“ (Vienna 1955), edited by Rudolf Felmayer, in 2005 a new anthology of exile, persecution and resistance was published by the Theodor Kramer Society Publishers. It introduced around 200 poets with distinctive samples of their work and short biographies. Knowledge of exile literature has become much further advanced in the last 20 years. The exile had not reached an end in 1945 or 1955, particularly not in poetry, meaning that many new authors have come to the fore since this time.

Über 50 Jahre nach der bisher einzigen Lyrikanthologie des österreichischen Exils, 'Dein Herz ist deine Heimat' (Wien 1955), hg. von Rudolf Felmayer, soll 2005 eine neue Anthologie des Exils, der Verfolgung und des Widerstands im Verlag der Theodor Kramer Gesellschaft erscheinen. Sie wird an die 200 Lyrikerinnen und Lyriker mit markanten Werkproben und in Kurzbiographien vorstellen. Die Kenntnisse über die Literatur des Exils haben sich in den letzten 20 Jahren erheblich erweitert. Das Exil war 1945 und auch 1955 nicht zu Ende, ganz besonders in der Lyrik nicht, und so sind seitdem viele Autoren neu hervorgetreten.
