The Jewish youth movement Haschomer Hazair, founded in Vienna on the eve of the First World War, has a very special place among the innumerable youth organizations throughout the world. It was active in many countries and continents, has tens of thousands of members, can look back over a 93 year history and is still a dynamic, innovative force in the Jewish world. In “Haschomer Hazair – a nest of damaged children’s souls“, the authors describe the suffering of the members of the youth movement under National Socialism and how the close-knit community of Haschomer Hazair helped them to success in the rest of their lives.

Die jüdische Jugendbewegung Haschomer Hazair, gegründet in Wien am Vorabend des Ersten Weltkrieges, nimmt unter den unzähligen Jugendorganisationen in aller Welt eine besondere Stellung ein. Sie war in vielen Ländern und Kontinenten tätig, zählt zehntausende Mitglieder, kann bereits auf 93 Jahre ihres Bestehens zurückblicken und stellt eine immer noch dynamische, innovative Kraft im Judentum dar.
