This publication shows that the “extermination psychiatry” system was supported by a broad network comprised of the entire welfare system and entrenched in the educational theory of the Nazi era. This originated in the educational theory of the early 20th century and continued to have effect for decades after 1945. This interdisciplinary volume analyses the historical scientific background of National Socialist educational theory, with special focus on the development and usage of a psychological testing procedure, namely intelligence testing. This is followed by a focus on the “black educational theory” of National Socialism.

Diese Publikation zeigt, dass sich das System der 'Vernichtungspsychiatrie' auf ein weitverzweigtes Netz stützte, welches das gesamte Fürsorgewesen umfasste und in der Pädagogik der NS-Zeit wurzelte. Diese fußte ihrerseits in der Pädagogik des beginnenden 20. Jahrhunderts und wirkte nach 1945 noch jahrzehntelang nach. Dieser interdisziplinär angelegte Band analysiert detailliert den wissenschaftsgeschichtlichen Hintergrund der NS-Pädagogik, wobei ein Schwerpunkt auf der Entwicklungs- und Anwendungsgeschichte psychologischer Testverfahren, namentlich der Intelligenzmessung, liegt. Anschließend steht die 'schwarze Pädagogik' des Nationalsozialismus im Mittelpunkt.
