On the basis of interviews with victims of National Socialism now living in Israel, the importance of the German language is shown, as well as the form in which is continued to be used. Through various activities, e.g. in the Austrians’ Club and those of the last German language newspaper, the “Israel Nachrichten”, the German language is perpetuated in Israel. The film draws attention to the experiences of its subjects in their homeland before and after the Second World War and addresses their present relationship with Austria.

Anhand von Interviews mit Opfern des Nationalsozialismus, die jetzt in Israel leben, wird die Bedeutung der deutschen Sprache aufgezeigt werden sowie die Form, in welcher sie nach wie vor angewandt wird. Durch verschiedene Aktivitäten, z.B. im Klub der Österreicher sowie der letzten deutschsprachigen Zeitung, den 'Israel Nachrichten', wird die deutsche Sprache in Israel erhalten. Der Film verweist auf die Erfahrungen der ProtagonistInnen in ihrem Heimatland vor und während des Zweiten Weltkrieges und nimmt Bezug auf ihr jetziges Verhältnis zu Österreich.
