Forschungsprojekt: 'Die Flucht von Juden nach Lettland und ihre weitere Emigration'

 

During a year-long research project by Austrian and Latvian historians, the fates of those Austrian Jews who remained in Latvia or who emigrated to Sweden, the USA or Canada were traced using Austrian, German and Latvian archive material and survivors were located. The project was to result in a manuscript for a joint publication in German and Latvian. After the project had been concluded, an exhibition on the subject was planned.

Im Rahmen eines einjährigen Forschungsprojektes von österreichischen und lettischen HistorikerInnen sollen die Schicksale jener österreichischen Juden, die in Lettland verblieben oder nach Schweden, in die USA und Kanada emigrierten, auf der Basis österreichischer, deutscher und lettischer Archivalien nachgezeichnet und noch Lebende ausfindig gemacht werden. Als Ergebnis des Projektes soll ein Manuskript für eine gemeinsame Publikation in deutscher und lettischer Sprache vorgelegt werden. Zudem ist nach Abschluss des Projektes eine Ausstellung zum Thema geplant.
