But a traitor informed the Gestapo and Hilde, her friend Pauline and her brother were arrested. Her brother was sent to Buchenwald and the women to Ravensbrück. Hilde and her mother, as political prisoners from Vienna, were supported by the solidarity and support of the resistance network in the camp, to the extent the the survived the “women’s hell”. She was a dedicated and active member of the Ravensbrück camp community until the end of her life. The main subject of the film is Hilda’s observation of people and their metamorphosis from people to monsters, her search for the resistance, her experiences in the concentration camp and the experience after the war that the crimes were not atoned and not even investigated. A 75-minute documentary was planned for cinemas and an abridged version was planned for the classroom.
