To mark the 62nd anniversary of the liberation of the Buchenwald concentration camp, on 15 April 2007 the international committee Buchenwald-Dora held a remembrance ceremony on the former roll-call ground in order to remember and honor the dead comrades. The former prisoner Franz von Hammerstein spoke. Young people from different countries read testimonies of former prisoners. After the ceremony, a moment of silence took place in the clock tower.

Anlässlich des 62. Jahrestags der Befreiung des KZ Buchenwald hat das Internationale Komitee Buchenwald-Dora am 15. April 2007 auf dem ehemaligen Appellplatz eine Gedenkveranstaltung ausgerichtet, um das Andenken der toten Kameraden zu ehren. Es sprach der ehemalige Häftling Franz von Hammerstein. Jugendliche aus verschiedenen Ländern lasen Zeitzeugnisse ehemaliger Häftlinge. Im Anschluss an die Gedenkfeier fand ein stilles Gedenken im Glockenturm statt.
