Project

Description

The exhibition has been conceived for a younger public in order to inform them of the events of the Holocaust through the eyes of children; it is based on the idea of an empty classroom in which the stories of children will be told on twelve blackboards. The drawings, poems, diaries, and made-up games created the impression that the children would return at any minute but the truth of the matter becomes clear when you take a closer look at the blackboards. Each board reflects the life of the children before the Holocaust, as well as the horror and the fear that they felt and the huge loss that they had ultimately had to suffer. A number of the boards offer an interactive experience and allow the children to actively participate in the exhibition. Several of the children introduced in the exhibition did not survive the Holocaust. Those who did survive it had to start their lives from scratch. The stories in the exhibition allow us to keep the memories of the children alive and to come to terms with their fates.
