Ausstellung zum 80. Todestag von Alfred Adler 2017. Brüche und Kontinuität der Wiener Individualpsychologie. Die Zeit von 1930 bis 1960

 

The “Alfred Adler Center International” that opened in 2013 not only accommodates the International and the Austrian Associations for Individual Psychology but is also intended to serve as an information and contact point for interested parties and experts. In addition to events held to train individual psychology analysists, there will also be events held which are open to the public and provide people with an insight into individual psychology. Beyond this, regular exhibitions will create a focus on various aspects of work in the field of individual psychology and further (research) projects will be initiated to support socially disadvantaged people; these planned activities will require the financial assistance of third parties. Planned are insights into the life and work of Alfred Adler and into previous, present and future projects of the International and the Austrian Associations for Individual Psychology. The biographies of Viennese individual psychologists will be used to portray and shed light on disruptions and continuity in Viennese Individual Psychology from the First Republic, through the Fascist and Nazi periods and well into the Second Republic.

Das 2013 eröffnete „Alfred Adler Center International“ beherbergt nicht nur den Internationalen sowie den Österreichischen Verein für Individualpsychologie, sondern soll eine Anlaufstelle für Interessierte und Fachleute darstellen. Es werden in diesem neuen Center neben Veranstaltungen zur Ausbildung individualpsychologischer Analytiker auch solche stattfinden, die öffentlich zugänglich sind und Interessierten einen Einblick in die Individualpsychologie bieten. Darüber hinaus sollen regelmäßige Ausstellungen verschiedene Aspekte der individualpsychologischen Arbeit weltweit in den Blick bringen und weitere (Forschungs-)Projekte zur Unterstützung sozial benachteiligter Menschen initiiert werden, wobei diese geplanten Aktivitäten der finanziellen Unterstützung durch Dritte bedürfen. Es soll Einblick in das Leben und Wirken Alfred Adlers sowie in die vergangenen, gegenwärtigen und zukünftigen Projekte des Internationalen ebenso wie des Österreichischen Vereins für Individualpsychologie geben. An Hand der Biographien Wiener Individualpsychologinnen und Individualpsychologen sollen Brüche und Kontinuität über die Zeit der ersten Republik in den Faschismus und den Nationalsozialismus bis in die zweite Republik hinein darstellt und erläutert werden.
