“Women 1938“ documented the events of the year 1938 and the stances of women at the time and illuminated their spheres of activity. Above all, it was important to the editor to diverge from the current fascination with the bad people and to include persecuted women and women who resisted in order to free their important work from the shadows. Three subject areas were to be contrasted: Women as National Socialists, women in the resistance and women as persecutees. Eyewitness survivors, historians and contemporary authors were requested to contribute.

Frauen 1938' wird die Geschehnisse des Jahres 1938 und die damaligen Positionen von Frauen und deren Aktivitätsradien beleuchten. Dabei ist der Herausgeberin vor allem wichtig, von der aktuellen Faszination des Bösen wegzukommen und verfolgte und widerständige Frauen einzubeziehen, um ihre wichtige Arbeit aus dem Schattendasein zu befreien. Drei Themenbereiche sollen gegenübergestellt werden: Frauen als Nationalsozialistinnen, Frauen im Widerstand und Frauen als Verfolgte. Für die Publikation werden Zeitzeuginnen, Historikerinnen und zeitgenössische Autorinnen um Beiträge angefragt.
