The Act on the Prevention of Hereditary Diseases was announced in 1933. This affected diseases which today fall under the fields of psychiatry, neurology, paediatrics, child and adolescent medicine, child and adolescent psychiatry and others. The aim was therefore to increase the proportion of positively evaluated hereditary factors and to reduce the proportion of negatively evaluated hereditary factors. On the basis of this law, up to 400,000 people were sterilized against their will. In addition, at least 5,000 children and young people were murdered in at least 30 "children's departments". The leading factor in the selection was the supposed "value" of the human being. After the end of the war, many doctors and the personnel involved were not held accountable for their actions. In the context of the existing exhibition, "captured, persecuted, destroyed", the "Puppet theatre F. Zawrel - hereditarily and socially inferior" was performed in Hallein on 25 April 2017.

Das Gesetz zur Verhütung von erbkranken Nachwuchs wurde 1933 verkündet. Dies betraf Krankheiten, die heute der Psychiatrie, der Neurologie, der Kinder- und Jugendmedizin, der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie und anderen zugeordnet werden. Ziel war es demnach, den Anteil positiv bewerteter Erbanlage zu vergrößern und die negativ bewerteten Erbanlagen zu verringern. Auf Grundlage dieses Gesetzes wurden bis zu 400.000 Menschen gegen ihren Willen sterilisiert. In mindestens 30 „Kinderfachabteilungen“ wurden darüber hinaus mindestens 5.000 Kinder und Jugendliche ermordet. Leitender Gesichtspunkt war bei der Selektion der vermeintliche „Wert“ des Menschen. Nach Kriegsende wurden viele Ärzte und das beteiligte Personal für ihre Taten nicht zur Rechenschaft gezogen. Im Rahmen der bereits vorhandenen Ausstellung, „erfasst, verfolgt, vernichtet“ wurde am 25.04.2017 in Hallein das „Puppentheater F. Zawrel – erbbiologisch und sozial minderwertig“ aufgeführt.
