Marjan Linasi: Kärntner Kriegsgeschichten. Einige Schicksale aus den Jahren 1938-1945

 

The historian Marjan Linasi has been studying the Nazi era for more than 30 years, especially the armed resistance against the Nazi dictatorship in Carinthia and Slovenia. In the course of his many years of archive research he came across numerous individual fates of resistance fighters but also of uninvolved civilians who were captured, imprisoned, tortured, sentenced to death or died in the course of the so-called "combatting bands of fighters" by the Gestapo or Nazi police. Since it is not possible to report in detail on these fates in overview works, Marjan Linasi does so in this book project and substantiates his stories with numerous documents from Austrian and Slovenian archives. The contributions mainly refer to events during the armed resistance on the territory of the Austrian province of Carinthia, some also to the region of Carinthia in today's Slovenia. The majority of the contributions have a direct connection to Austria, a small number at least an indirect connection to Austria.

Der Historiker Marjan Linasi beschäftigt sich seit mehr als 30 Jahren mit der NS-Zeit, insbesondere mit dem bewaffneten Widerstand gegen die NS-Diktatur in Kärnten und Slowenien. Im Laufe seiner langjährigen Archivrecherchen stieß er auf zahlreiche Einzelschicksale von WiderstandskämpferInnen aber auch unbeteiligten Zivilisten, die von der Gestapo oder NS-Polizei gefangengenommen, eingesperrt, gefoltert, zum Tode verurteilt oder im Zuge der sogenannten „Bandbekämpfung“ ums Leben kamen. Da in Überblickswerken über diese Schicksale nicht ausführlich berichtet werden kann, holt dies Marjan Linasi im vorliegenden Buchprojekt nach und untermauert seine Erzählungen mit zahlreichen Dokumenten aus österreichischen und slowenischen Archiven. Die Beiträge beziehen sich hauptsächlich auf Ereignisse während des bewaffneten Widerstands auf dem Gebiet des österreichischen Bundeslandes Kärnten, einige auch auf die Region Kärnten im heutigen Slowenien. Der Großteil der Beiträge weist einen direkten Österreichbezug auf, ein geringer Teil einen zumindest indirekten Bezug zu Österreich.
