Description
The project consists in publishing the dissertation of Mrs. Maria Jahoda. It is based on autobiographical interviews with about 50 women and men born around the middle of the 19th century. Not least the protocols of these interviews make the dissertation a significant source of social history and sociology. In the publication, the historical text is contextualized from several sides, so that both the historical context of its creation and the significance of the work for contemporary society can be understood. The authors of these contributions are Josef Ehmer, Christian Fleck, Georg Hubmann, Helga Nowotny and Meinrad Ziegler. The aim is to honour not only the dissertation, but also the author Marie Jahoda as a young, politically dedicated woman.

Das Projekt besteht darin die Dissertation von Frau Maria Jahoda zu publizieren. Diese basiert auf lebensgeschichtlichen Interviews mit rund 50 Frauen und Männern, die um die Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts geboren sind. Nicht zuletzt die Protokolle dieser Interviews machen die Dissertation zu einer bedeutsamen sozialgeschichtlichen und soziologischen Quelle. In der Publikation wird der historische Text von mehreren Seiten kontextualisiert, sodass sowohl historische Zusammenhänge der Entstehung als auch die Bedeutung der Arbeit für die Gegenwartsgesellschaft nachvollziehbar sind. AutorInnen dieser Beiträge sind Josef Ehmer, Christian Fleck, Georg Hubmann, Helga Nowotny und Meinrad Ziegler. Das Ziel ist es nicht nur die Dissertation, sondern auch die Autorin Marie Jahoda als junge, politische engagierte Frau zu würdigen.
