For many years, Gideon Eckhaus managed the central committee in Tel Aviv for Jews living in Israel who had managed to escape Nazi tyranny in Austria. In 2018 Mr. Eckhaus passed on his duties to Mrs. Kika Goren. She is the new president of the association and the new contact person for the National Fund. At the end of 2017 the office of the association was closed, the documents digitized and all documentation and furniture was accommodated at the club. In order to be able to undertake all of the programs and activities and provide the support to Austrian Holocaust survivors in Israel that Austria would like it to, the association relies on the annual financial subsidies of the National Fund. This is used to to cover the administration, management, and outlay for all of the activities, projects, running costs, and the continued running of the organization “Central Committee of Jews from Austria in Israel”. The association organizes various day-to-day services such as meals, company, exercise, doctor’s visits and much more.

Über viele Jahre hinweg leitete Gideon Eckhaus die zentrale Stelle für die in Israel lebenden und aus Österreich stammenden Jüdinnen und Juden in Tel Aviv, die es geschafft haben, die nationalsozialistische Verfolgung zu überleben. 2018 musste Herr Eckhaus seine Tätigkeit an Frau Kika Goren übergeben. Sie ist die neue Präsidentin des Vereins und die neue Ansprechpartnerin des Nationalfonds. Mit Ende des Jahres 2017 wurde das Büro des Vereins aufgelöst, die Dokumente digitalisiert und alle Unterlagen samt der Einrichtung in den Clubräumen untergebracht. Um alle von Österreich gewünschten Programme, Aktivitäten und Hilfeleistungen für österreichische Holocaustüberlebende in Israel durchführen zu können, benötigt der Verein jährliche finanzielle Unterstützung durch den Nationalfonds. Dazu gehören die Administration, die Verwaltung und der Aufwand für alle Aktivitäten, Projekte, laufende Kosten und die Erhaltung der Organisation des „Central Committee“ der Jüdinnen und Juden aus Österreich in Israel. Der Verein organisiert unterschiedliche alltägliche Dienste, wie Essen, Gesellschaft, Bewegung, Arztbesuche und vieles mehr.
