Description
AMCHA is the Israeli national center for providing psychosocial support to Holocaust survivors and the second generation. Currently AMCHA provides support to 50 Holocaust survivors who were born in Israel and around 45 additional survivors who were imprisoned in Austria during World War II (Mauthausen and its satellite camps). A comprehensive network of mental health care providers and psychosocial assistance covers the following areas: psychotherapy, clubs for psychosocial support in the community, therapeutic measures at home offered by professional social workers and home visits by supervised volunteers. The program is offered at the AMCHA centers scattered throughout Israel (including Nahariya, Kiryat Motzkin, Haifa, Netanya, Ramat Gan, Tel Aviv, Rehovot, Jerusalem, Ashkelon, Ashdod and Beer Sheva) and at home. In 2018 AMCHA should continue to be able to take on particularly Austrian survivors in Israel. The National Fund is requested to approve further subsidies.

AMCHA ist das nationale israelische Zentrum für psychosoziale Unterstützung von Überlebenden des Holocaust und deren zweiten Generation. Zur Zeit unterstützt AMCHA 50 in Österreich geborene Holocaust-Überlebende und ungefähr 45 zusätzliche Überlebende, die während des Zweiten Weltkrieges in Österreich inhaftiert waren (Mauthausen und Außenlager). Ein umfassendes Netzwerk an psychischer Gesundheitsversorgung und psychosozialer Unterstützung umfasst dabei folgende Bereiche: Psychotherapie, Clubs zur psychosozialen Unterstützung der Gemeinschaft, therapeutische Maßnahmen zu Hause, die von professionellen Sozialarbeitern angeboten werden und Hausbesuche von beaufsichtigten Freiwilligen. Das Programm wird sowohl innerhalb der Zentren AMCHAs, die in ganz Israel (inklusive Nahariya, Kiryat Motzkin, Haifa, Netanya, Ramat Gan, Tel Aviv, Rehovot, Jerusalem, Ashkelon, Ashdod und Beer Sheva) verteilt sind als auch zu Hause durchgeführt. 2018 soll sich AMCHA auch weiterhin speziell den österreichischen Überlebenden in Israel annehmen können. Der Nationalfonds wird ersucht weitere Förderungen zu genehmigen.
