The rise of Heidenreichstein to the industrial center of the Upper Waldviertel in the last century would not have been possible without the contribution of Jewish entrepreneurs. On the occasion of the commemorative year, the municipality of Heidenreichstein would like to pay tribute to this heritage. At the event on October 18, 2018, a memorial stone with the following inscription will be unveiled in the town cemetery: "In honor of the Jewish citizens of the town of Heidenreichstein who were persecuted and became victims of the Holocaust during the years 1933-1945". Afterwards, the book "Jewish Families in the Waldviertel and their Fate" will be presented in the community hall and the author of the chapter on Heidenreichstein (Mag. Karl Immervoll) will report on his research. The municipality of Heidenreichstein is seeking support from the National Fund for the construction of the memorial plaque.

Der Aufstieg Heidenreichsteins zum industriellen Zentrum des Oberen Waldviertels im vorigen Jahrhundert wäre ohne den Beitrag jüdischer UnternehmerInnen nicht möglich gewesen. Aus Anlass des Gedenkjahres möchte die Stadtgemeinde Heidenreichstein dieses Erbe würdigen. Bei der Veranstaltung am 18. Oktober 2018 wird im Friedhof der Stadt ein Gedenkstein mit folgender Inschrift enthüllt: „Zum ehrenden Gedenken an die jüdischen Bürgerinnen und Bürger der Stadt Heidenreichstein, die während der Jahre 1933-1945 verfolgt und Opfer des Holocaust wurden“. Danach wird im Veranstaltungssaal der Gemeinde das Buch „Jüdische Familien im Waldviertel und ihr Schicksal“ vorgestellt und der Verfasser des Kapitels über Heidenreichstein (Mag. Karl Immervoll) wird über seine Recherchen berichten. Die Stadtgemeinde Heidenreichstein sucht beim Nationalfonds um Unterstützung zur Errichtung der Gedenktafel an.
