In 2008 the book "...leben in der Josefstadt" was published to accompany the unveiling of 20 places of remembrance of people persecuted and displaced in Josefstadt between 1938 and 1945. This was initiated by the "Association of Stones of Remembrance Josefstadt". In addition to the established memorial sites, this volume has above all shed light on the background of the persecution in Josefstadt and made it comprehensible. This book has unfortunately been completely out of print for several years. In the meantime, not only have new stations been established, but new research material has been provided through numerous new documents, photos and conversations with relatives, which in part relativizes the research found by the established archives. The art and science of the people who had fallen into oblivion as a result of the extermination could also be rediscovered. All this should be the occasion to publish a new volume on the subject, which is scheduled for November 2018. The book will no longer be structured by describing individual stations, but by means of routes through the district. Further information as well as contributions from relatives and renowned researchers are planned.

2008 erschien das Buch „…lebte in der Josefstadt“ begleitend zur Enthüllung von 20 Orten der Erinnerung an zwischen 1938 bis 1945 in der Josefstadt verfolgten und vertriebenen Menschen. Initiiert wurde dies vom „Verein Steine der Erinnerung Josefstadt“. Neben den eingerichteten Stationen der Erinnerung wurde in diesem Band vor allem der Hintergrund der Verfolgung in der Josefstadt eingehend beleuchtet und verständlich gemacht. Dieses Buch ist seit einigen Jahren leider restlos vergriffen. Inzwischen wurden nicht nur neue Stationen gelegt, sondern durch zahlreiche neue Dokumente, Fotos und Gespräche mit Angehörigen neues Forschungsmaterial geliefert, das teilweise die von den etablierten Archiven gefundenen Forschungen relativiert. Kunst und Wissenschaft der durch die Vernichtung in die Vergessenheit geratenen Personen konnten ebenfalls neu entdeckt werden. All dies soll Anlass sein, einen neuen Band zum Thema herauszugeben, der im November 2018 erscheinen soll. Aufgebaut soll das Buch nicht mehr durch die Beschreibung von Einzelstationen sein, sondern mittels Routen durch den Bezirk. Weiterführende Informationen sowie Beiträge von Angehörigen und renommierten Forschern sind geplant.
