In 2015, the Simon Wiesenthal Conference at Palais Epstein brought together scholars from the fields of Holocaust Studies and Jewish Studies to discuss questions about the perspectivation of anti-Semitism research. This interdisciplinary conference with participants from Israeli, American, and numerous European research institutions has resulted in the present book, which will be published by "new academic press" as part of the VWI series. The contributions in the volume introduce finer nuances into these narratives by presenting views and perspectives from and about the periphery for discussion. In this context, modern anti-Semitism is no longer seen as an exclusive construct of the center that has been gradually transferred to the periphery, but rather within the framework of the interrelationships between such transfers and local patterns of exclusion.

Im Jahr 2015 kamen im Rahmen der Simon Wiesenthal Konferenz im Palais Epstein WissenschaftlerInnen aus den Bereichen der Holocaust-Studien und der Jewish Studies zusammen, um Fragen der Perspektivierung der Antisemitismusforschung zu diskutieren. Aus dieser interdisziplinären Konferenz mit TeilnehmerInnen von israelischen, amerikanischen und zahlreichen europäischen Forschungsinstitutionen geht das hier vorliegende Buch hervor, das im Verlag „new academic press“ in der VWI-Beitragsreihe erscheinen soll. Die Beiträge des Bandes bringen feinere Nuancen in diese Narrative ein, indem sie Auffassungen und Sichtweisen aus und von der Peripherie zur Diskussion stellen. In diesem Kontext wird der moderne Antisemitismus nicht mehr als ein ausschließliches Gebilde des Zentrums gesehen, das nach und nach an die Peripherien übertragen wurde, sondern vielmehr im Rahmen der Verflechtungen zwischen solchen Transfers und lokalen Mustern der Ausgrenzung.
