Project

Description

According to the current state of research, it is not possible to make scientifically sound statements based on multi-perspective data collection about the interest of Muslim youth in dealing with the Holocaust, their images of Jews, the Israel-Palestine conflict or their own demands for remembrance. It is precisely at this research desideratum that this research study begins. Within the framework of previous research on this complex of topics - based on written surveys of 384 young people (Upper Austria, Salzburg) and oral interviews with 17 teachers (Upper Austria, Salzburg, Vienna), these questions have already been answered to a certain extent. In the course of data collection, there was also the opportunity to interview mediators at concentration camp memorials and other places of remembrance about their experiences in Holocaust education. The aim is to transcribe the interviews already conducted using the "F4transcript" software, to evaluate them on the basis of the specific research questions, and to relate and contextualize them with other sources and current literature.
