In the summer of 1938, members of the Nazi Party surveyed the population of St. Jakob, as the only place in Carinthia, in order to prove that the Aryan race was settled far down south. From the survey it was concluded that the inhabitants of St. Jakob had the character of a mixed population despite conspicuously large Nordic influences. The Slovenian Cultural Association has chosen this topic as the focus of its activities for the year 2018. In spring 2018 various activities were implemented and in autumn 2018 an exhibition entitled "Surveying Office once and now" was created. The exhibition was supported by the National Fund in 2018 and was visited by 2,200 visitors. The great interest of the public induced the association's board of directors to reopen the exhibition in spring 2019, contrary to the original plan. The motto is "Give peace a chance" and is intended above all to appeal to the younger generation. Afterwards the exhibition will be closed in St. Jakob and shown elsewhere, concrete negotiations are underway with the Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art Vienna, the Prora Centre on the island of Rügen and with interested institutions from Slovenia.

Im Sommer 1938 vermaßen Mitglieder der NSDAP als einzigen Ort in Kärnten die Bevölkerung von St. Jakob, um nachzuweisen, dass die arische Rasse bis weit in den Süden hinein sesshaft ist. Aus der ehemaligen Vermessung wurde geschlossen, dass die BewohnerInnen von St. Jakob trotz auffallend hoher nordischer Einflüsse den Charakter einer Mischbevölkerung aufweisen. Der Slowenische Kulturverein hat sich dieses Thema zum Schwerpunkt seiner Tätigkeit für das Jahr 2018 ausgesucht. Im Frühjahr 2018 wurden verschiedene Aktionen umgesetzt und im Herbst 2018 eine Ausstellung mit dem Titel „Vermessungsamt einst und jetzt“ gestaltet. Die Ausstellung wurde im Jahr 2018 vom Nationalfond gefördert und wurde von 2.200 BesucherInnen besucht. Das große Publikumsinteresse bewog den Vereinsvorstand, entgegen dem ursprünglichen Vorhaben, die Ausstellung im Frühjahr 2019 wieder zu öffnen. Das Motto lautet „Give peace a chance“ und soll vor allem die jüngere Generation ansprechen. Danach wird die Ausstellung in St. Jakob geschlossen und anderswo gezeigt, konkrete Verhandlungen laufen mit dem Volkskundemuseum Wien, dem Prora-Zentrum auf der Insel Rügen und mit interessierten Einrichtungen aus Slowenien.
