Description
To mark the 70th anniversary of the Anschluss of Austria to Nazi Germany it was important to especially make young people aware of the crimes of the National Socialist regime. For this reason, the Austrian Socialist Youth planned to reprint 4,000 copies of the brochure “1938 – Learn from the Past” by Josef Hindels, first published in 1988. The aim of this production was within the scope of the Year of Remembrance 2008, to inform young people of the historical causes and circumstances. The brochure was supplemented by the new chapters “De-nazification in Austria” and “Right extremism today”.

Anlässlich des 70. Jahrestages des Anschlusses Österreichs an Nazi-Deutschland ist es wichtig, speziell Jugendliche für die Verbrechen des nationalsozialistischen Terror-Regimes zu sensibilisieren. Die Sozialistische Jugend Österreich plant aus diesem Grund die Broschüre '1938 – Aus der Vergangenheit lernen' von Josef Hindels, erstmals erschienen 1988, in einer Größenordnung von 4.000 Stück neu aufzulegen. Ziel dieser Produktion ist es, im Rahmen des Gedenkjahres gezielt Jugendliche über historische Ursachen und Umstände aufzuklären. Die Broschüre soll um die Kapitel 'Entnazifizierung in Österreich' und 'Rechtsextremismus heute' ergänzt werden.
