Description
The Roma Theater Rota wanted to demonstrate possible ways of living together and sharing common experiences. The play by the only Roma director and actor living in Austria Obrad Jovanovic is a positive contribution to the development of Roma literature and to European literature as a whole. Among other things, it touches on issues that the Roma in Austria have when dealing with National Socialist history. The first and only scenic Roma theater in Austria put on and presented its own production. The premieretook place on 25.5.2008 in the Brett Theater with further performances on 26 and 27.05.2008 and on 28.5.2008 in Amerling house. Additionally, an Austrian tour was also planned, starting in Oberwart with a performance in early June 2008.

Das Romatheater Rota möchte mögliche Wege zu gemeinsamem Leben und Erleben aufzeigen. Das Stück von dem einzigen in Österreich lebenden Roma-Regisseur und Dramatiker Obrad Jovanovic ist ein positiver Beitrag zur Entwicklung der Roma-Literatur und zum europäischen Literaturgut überhaupt. Es berührt unter anderem Themen der Roma in Österreich und den Umgang mit der NS-Geschichte. Das erste und einzige szenische Romatheater in Österreich beabsichtigt eine eigene Inszenierung vorzubereiten und zu präsentieren. Die Premiere soll voraussichtlich am 25.5. 2008 im Theater Brett stattfinden mit weiteren Aufführungen am 26. und 27.5. 2008. So wie 28.5.08 in Amerling Haus. Abgesehen davon ist eine österreichische Tournee vorgesehen, die in Oberwart starten soll mit einer Aufführung Anfang Juni 2008.
